Do
you need fancy to have
a good web site design?
Web
site design has changed over
the years. What was once considered cool having all the bells
and whistles is no longer acceptable. Flash ,animation, java
applets and other flashier type media's that were popular no
longer are. With the growing issues of viruses, people do not
download the accessories sometimes required to view these items.
You now have to design for your target area. Make the site
appealing, clean, optimized and accessible to the web crawlers
and browsers. If these things are not considered you will find
your site lost in cyber space along with the millions of others
sites that were once held in high esteem.
Color
is important..You
want to create a site design that is easy
to the eye, and for many viewers that are older, you want to
make sure they can stay at your site without getting a headache.
Does that mean you can not have a wow site?
Of course not. You simply have a designer
create a clean site with a wow header and do your bells and
whistles using style css.
Choosing your graphic is critical..you
want to archive the right invitation for the target area that
you are trying to contact.
A
professional designer will consider all of these problems and
also consider what is needed for optimization. Make your site
one to be remembered use a professional. |

Basic
Web Site design rules.
First:Your
website should always be clear and
easy to read. Us basic text that can be found on any or all
computers such as Ariel or Verdona. If you must have colored
text then use a dark text in the same colored family. But
if at all possible plain basic black is what should be used.
Dark background and light text is hard to read for many people.
Second: Your site should be easy to navigate.
You want to use text links verses images links anytime that
you can.Graphic Buttons do not always come across with clarity,
and can not be picked up by web crawlers or robots.
Nice text enhanced with style css, can achieve the same amount
of wow and meets all the criteria. Most people who click on
a site with image tacky buttons click off as fast as they
clicked on. So consider your choices carefully.
Third: Your website should be easy to find.
Well they wont find it if the crawlers and robots do not search
it. Make sure that you put in the correct meta tags and keywords
that reflect your site. If you terms and descriptions are
not there then the browsers wont know what to report.
You can not depend on the conventional way of marketing concerning
the web. So you do need to follow some
basic guidelines and do your part to help others find your
site.

Gifting

Create an exciting location where gift-givers will flock
to find specific items and be inspired. In a recent survey,
Freedman said she found that 77 percent of e-commerce sites
offer a gift center, while 74 percent offer gift suggestions.

Outlets:
A
centralized, well-merchandised destination for liquidating
products focuses shoppers, Freedman noted. She pointed to such
a section on Recreational Equipment Inc.¹s (REI) Web site
that includes a newsletter sign-up for customers looking for
the best deals.

Relevant
cross-sells and up-sells
that increase average order. The product page provides a perfect
opportunity for customers to accessorize and or merchants to
increase their average order,² Freedman said. ³It¹s
all about creating that impulse buy and driving that average
order up.² She pointed to J. Crew as an example of a cataloger
that does an effective job of this.
